Robert Budi Hartono Robert Budi Hartono is the Chief Executive Officer of Djarum Group (http://www.djarum.co.id/en/) , Indonesia’s second biggest tobacco company and the biggest exporter of clove cigarettes to America. Robert and his brother, Michael Bambang are the majority owners of Bank Central Asia (http://www.klikbca.com)

Hartono attended Dutch school. From the 1970s, he diversified into electronics assembly, textiles, food processing and banking

Djarum Group was established by their father, Oei Wie Gwan in 1951 as a hand-rolling workshop. The Group has since rose and diversified into banking and property development.

In 1998, the Hartonos joined partnership to acquire majority control of Bank Central Asia, the largest private bank in Indonesia.

In 2002, the company launched the construction of a $100 million shopping complex in Jakarta. The Group also won contracts to renovate two landmark Indonesia hotels – the Hotel Indonesia and Hotel Wisata in downtown Jakarta.
